It was my ideal YA read. The beautiful cover with the golden script and the muted girl with glowing green eyes. It was instalove. You can sometimes judge a book by it's cover because the contents were just as amazing.I had originally thought from the blurb and the main character's name (Isis) that there would be an Egyptian mythology flavor to this young adult but it had a beautiful mythology all its own taking from many different cultures.Isis was a perfect mix of intelligence and albeit naive thinking, she was a very believable teenager. I loved how she didn't fall into instant infatuation with David, she made that gorgeous boy work for her heart and she had his well-being in mind rather than her own selfush desires. It was a welcome reprieve from other young adult novels. David was a very honorable hero, he definitely won my heart before he won over Isis'!Creatura ended on such a cliffhanger! I'm dying for the next one!*This review was done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official.*4 of 4 people found the following review helpful.Another author to add to my list of must readBy Shy UniqueAs I didn’t really read the blurb before I started reading it, (although I probably did when I first heard of the book but have forgotten what it says) I have no idea what I was getting into when I finally decided to read it. But I think that was a good thing because the book hooked me in after the first paragraph.The story has a touch of originality into it although the Gabriel bit of the conflict was a bit predictable for me. I like all of the characters. They were fun to read and also endearing. I was amused the most with the twins but among all the characters, it was David I love most. I think I enjoyed reading about his characters the most because of his old fashion virtues that I grew up with. To be honest, this is the first book in my indie reading experience where courtship was mentioned. I know times have changed and even in my country, it’s not done exactly the way David did it but I like how he went through those stages of the relationship with Isis. I love not just the actions he did for Isis but also the fact that he’s not in a rush.For someone who loves Greek mythology, I love small portion of reference into it. Although there are a lot of questions left hanging and the story even ended up in a cliffhanger, I enjoyed the story very much. Her overarching plot about the long history between Greek gods and humans cleverly adds a new and unique twist to a familiar paranormal narrative.Cab’s main character, Isis, shows herself to be tough and an independent thinker early on in the novel, which makes her an easy character readers will easily identify with. But, as is common with teen paranormal romance, the roles of the characters are clearly defined. Nevertheless, their romantic narrative has a sweet nature and more than a few affectionate moments that readers will appreciate.An unexpected delight of the novel was the wonderful relationship between Isis and her mother, Claire. They have an amazing amount of care and adoration for each other, but they also treat each other with mutual respect and friendly nature of two gals helping each other sort through their complicated romances.
