I've bought it for several friends and family members and have heard great feedback from everyone. Brizendine approaches the study of female-specific habits/behavior/development from a neurobiological perspective, as well as anecdotes from her own experience as a medical doctor. It's fascinating to read about the impact that minute changes in brain chemistry, hormone levels, etc., can have on the individual and on the human experience. I learned so much about myself in my tumultuous teenage years, and it helps to explain why men and women sometimes seem like fundamentally different species (it's not his fault - he really doesn't remember!). I've read it twice and keep it around to flip through a chapter every once in awhile. I've given this book as a gift to many of them.By D. DurahThis is a very good book that will give you great insight and appreciation for women, their thought patterns, and potential. I wish I could have come across information like this 40 years ago. In my opinion, all teenagers (as they are beginning to start dating) should read The Female Brain, and Louann's other book The Male Brain.I bought the book for a friend's young teenage daughter that is quite intelligent but Idon't think she was interested in or maybe ready for it. I am an RN now so they worked well :)By AllfruitThis book was required for my nursing school - BSN program. I feel the selection of books my program chose were all very informative, to the point and we used the books for the classes that required them. During nursing school most people do not know where their career will take them, there are so many options the RN has available, so building a strong foundation is essential to success in the field. Nursing books are not written to be entertaining they are for educational purpose only. This book definitely offered education. After you graduate school and chose a path then find the best reference book you can find and carry it with you until the day you retire.
